Over the last ten years, telecommunication companies in New Zealand and Australia have been changing the way they build the joint chambers for their underground duct networks. The reason for this change of approach has been their rapid acceptance and encouragement of Sika Technology’s ‘Sika Solution’. The 'Sika Solution’ The ‘Sika Solution’ is a unique, lightweight underground joint chamber with lockable cover, able to be constructed on location from a kitset of large cast aluminium components that meet the technical and load requirements of telecommunication, power, and waste or clean water system owners. Licensee Process The process for obtaining a Sika Licence to manufacture, sell, and distribute the product involves four basic steps. - Sign a Confidentiality Deed with respect to Sika’s Intellectual Property.
- Submit a License Application for the markets you want to sell to.
- Manufacture Sales Distribution & Service License Agreement
- Purchase a ‘Sika Solution’ Turnkey Factory, complete with Sika’s IP contained in the selected plant, layout, operational manuals, and necessary dies.
With the investment in place, Licensees are in a position to build a ‘win-win’ partnership with Sika International to realise their expected ROI. Liscensee Contribution Investors are expected to arrange for the factory building, and its associated services and infrastructure, governance and management structures, resources and expertise for basic business processes such as procurement, finance and accounts, sales, building and plant maintenance, and human resource management.
